My 2013

My own edited photo. The year 2013 has been riddled with lots of mixed emotions. There were things that I never fully expected of dreamed of. I am never a good planner, or should I say, I find it challenging to follow through my plans. This year, I planned big things for myself...plans that on paper, were very easy to achieve--or so it seems.  life has a way of throwing you a curve ball and when it's already right in front of you, the best thing you can do, is to roll with it.  I wish I have photos to share as to how my 2013 has been liked. My time has been divided to Church ministry, studying for my Masters, getting acquainted with my new workmates and moving to a new house. You must understand one thing about me,  don't like the camera-never did. Even my phone rarely contains photos of me. Mostly, the photos are of  my siblings or of nature but NEVER ME. However, as I write this post, I come to regret that I did not take a lot of photos of this year. I s...

Healthy Tips during the Rainy Seson

The rainy season is here! From the scorching heat of summer, we welcome the bliss of the cool rain. Aside from the change in weather, there are also several changes that we have to expect with our health. As we welcome the coolness of rain, we also welcome the different health problems the rainy season brings.   As a health care provider, I feel compelled to share a few things (most of which, I’m sure you've heard already but I still want to re-iterate its importance) on how to safeguard our health during this season. In the Philippines, the number 1 problem that we have during the height of monsoon rains is flooded streets. Due to the unfortunate reality that our sewers are always clogged with trash, flood water isn't all hygienic. The effect of flood water is not only with our livelihood. In reality, it is our health that should be our foremost concern. We get all kinds of diseases from flood water (these diseases will be discussed in another post)....

No Holds Barred: My take on the RH Bill

I haven't planned on writing something today as I am suffering from a nasty headache. However, when I checked my notifications, I noticed that a lot of my connections are busy writing away their thoughts. So I decided to write one too. Why "No holds Barred?" I noticed that most posts I have read focused on expressing their thoughts about things. For the time being, I am inspired to write about the RH Bill or the Reproductive Health Bill. For the Filipinos out there, I am sure you have heard of this one way or another. It is a very 'noisy' topic. It was passed by the House of Representatives last December 2012. Majority of the Filipinos are Roman Catholics. They do not believe in artificial contraception hence the strong disagreement against the bill. The RH bill is not only targeting contraception. It is a bill enhancing the health care to be received by mother and infant. However, the bill makes sure that contraception, fertility control and adequate maternal...

Ready?Get Set--Write

I have been meaning to start a blog since time immemorial but it was only recently that I found the resolve to actually do it. I am not a good writer nor a good blogger. So why am I writing one then? Good question. To be honest, I am also clueless. Kidding :-) I wanted to have a blog because I wanted someplace where I could practically share anything I desire. What? So Twitter and Facebook isn't enough?  I guess..but then I don't usually use them to express my thoughts. I use them to connect to friends and long lost friends but not to air my disgust of the government and of my neighbor. Really people? These blog sites were created for people to share what they think of the world right?  I guess, my mind is a little mixed up right now. I don't think I am making any sense here. Then again, that was just the goal. To type away my thoughts and then, I might arrive to the correct conclusion in the end. Pathetic isn't it? I am a beginner when it comes to writing--perhaps ...
